General
Of course! We were all beginners at some point! First time track drivers must attend our ART Core school for their first outing.
There is no speed limit. The speed will depend on your skill level and the speed you can safely circulate the track.
Yes, you can come watch before deciding. There is no fee to come watch. If you come to watch, you might want to consider the Drive on the Track Track Tasting program just to try it out and see what the track is all about.
We do not allow novices to take passengers so they can concentrate on the track. However you may sign up for a thrill ride with one of our instructors.
We have limited availability for you to attend the ART Core School using our car. Please inquire about car availability with us.
Driver
Yes you do need a helmet to drive on the track. Helmet should at least meet Snell 2010 standard. For convertibles/roadsters/open cockpit cars, a full-face helmet is required, for coupes and sedans a open-face helmet is sufficient.
No you will only need working seatbelts and a helmet.
No, you don’t need special driving skills, just the basics to driving, if you are a beginner we have instructors to help.

On Track
New drivers are required to take the ART Core driving school which will teach cover essential basic driving skills. For experienced track drivers, there is a mandatory meeting each morning at around 8:30 am. You will learn important info about the day’s operations. If you need additional help, you may speak with our instructors or sign up for in-car instruction.
There are no guides on the track for our regular trackday (guides are utilized for the ART Core driving school). However, our instructors are friendly and willing to answer any questions off the track. You can also sign up for in-car instruction if you need it.
Passing are allowed from past apex to the start of the next braking zone, both are marked by cones. If you can’t pull ahead of the car you intend to pass when the braking zone starts (so the other driver can see you ahead BEFORE braking starts), you should back off and wait. Violators of passing zone rules will be black flagged on first offense and prevented from completing the day on a repeat offense.

Car
Yes, any safe street car is acceptable, as long as it’s in good driving order.
You need a helmet. First time track drivers must attend our ART Core school for their first track outing.
Convertibles and roadsters are permitted, as long as the factory rollover protection is intact and functional.
Any car which handles well around turns. Obviously sports cars are made for the track, but you can have funs with sport sedans and even smaller crossovers just the same!
Both are acceptable. Although for beginners, it may be easier to drive an automatic car so you can spend 100% of your attention on braking and steering.
Event
You should get to the track from 8-8:30 am.
Track sessions start at 9 am and runs until 6 in a rotation of groups, with the exception of the ART Core school student drivers who will start with sighting laps at 8:45 am.
Each driver who are full-day participants will have seven to eight 15 minute on track sessions, condition permitting. ART Core school have different on-track schedule, please consult the school page.
There are self-service fuel pumps at the track in the paddock. You can also fill out outside the track during breaks between sessions.
There is camping available at Pocono inside the track and at the Long Pond camp ground for RVs.
